Updates on Phase 2 of Construction at CCS
Cherokee Central Schools would like to share an important construction update for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year as we continue Phase 2 of our campus construction project.
A flyer outlining grade-level classroom locations and updates will be sent home with all students in grades PK–7, and will also be available below when you click the link.
For reference, during the 2025–2026 school year, PK–4 was considered Cherokee Elementary School (CES), grades 5–7 were considered Cherokee Middle School (CMS), and grades 8–12 were considered Cherokee High School (CHS) due to ongoing construction adjustments. For the upcoming 2026–2027 school year, PK–6 will now be considered CES, grades 7–8 will be considered CMS, and grades 9–12 will remain CHS. We hope this overall grade distribution structure will remain in place through the completion of construction, even if classroom or building locations may continue to shift as work progresses.
As always, student safety remains our top priority. While we want to keep families informed, we also ask everyone to be mindful about publicly sharing specific student locations or schedules on social media. Our goal is to maintain transparency while helping ensure the safety and security of all students and staff.
We will continue to keep families updated and share new information as it becomes available. Thank you for your continued patience and support as we work to improve our campus for the future of our students
